OUR MISSION
reform education to diminish incarceration
REDI's mission is to encourage UCLA student involvement in reducing the recidivism rates of underserved communities in the Los Angeles area through direct service and culturally relevant college preparatory workshops. It is our aim to connect formerly incarcerated youth and adult students with the right resources and information to help increase their prospects and success.
WHAT WE DO
building bridges to higher education
Our organization aims to help formerly incarcerated youth and adults build pathways to higher education. We work with a variety of high schools, community colleges and independent organizations throughout Los Angeles. We offer resources such as tutoring, personal statement workshops, financial aid information, and college application assistance to our community. OUR FOUNDING
A Unique After School Club
It all started with a group of friends who developed a common passion and subsequently got together with increasing frequency to enjoy this shared interest. It wasn’t long before t-shirts were made and Reforming Education to Diminish Incarceration was “officially” born.
Founded in 2000 and based in San Francisco, our After School Club is a devoted community made up of enthusiastic individuals who enjoy sharing ideas and activities. You’re welcome to browse our site to learn more, and if what we’re doing resonates with you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
